Frequently asked questions.
How long does it take to transfer my tapes?
Our standard processing time is estimated at 3 weeks from when we receive your tapes. We do offer rush services if you are in need of getting your tapes transferred immediately. Please give us a call to discuss our rushed service options and we will be happy to add this to your order.
What formats do you accept?
We accept VHS, VHS-C, MINI DV, HI 8 and BETA tapes.
What is the difference between the standard and enhanced?
Our standard transfer is whatever condition the tape is currently in just digitized. Our enhanced transfer allows our technicians to provide the highest resolution, color correction and audio enhancement to give the tape the best possible transfer.
What if my tape is broken or blank?
We repair broken tapes for an additional charge of $7. Blank tapes have a checking fee of $7 and you will be refunded the difference back to you.
Can I edit my files?
If you get our 30 day cloud link or a USB, you will receive an mp4 file. This digital file is easy to edit in any video editing software. Our DVD option does not allow any edits.
What will I get back after my order is completed?
You will always receive back whatever was given to us. All your tapes will be returned along with any deliverables you ordered (USB, DVDs, cloud links will be emailed).
Can you combine my tapes onto a single DVD?
No. Each tape will be their own indivdual DVD.
Will all my tapes fit on one USB?
Yes! We will always use a Forever Safe USB that is able to hold all your files.
What if my tape is over 2 hours long?
No problem! If ordering the DVD option, each DVD will hold up to 2 hours. If your tape exceeds this we will transfer the remaining on an additional DVD.
Can you fix the tracking on tapes?
Yes we can. We use high quality VCRs with TBC (Time Based Correctors). This does fix a lot of tracking issues, but not necessarily all.
